The Avenues Development in Hull
Volunteers at the Carnegie Heritage Centre researched the Development of Westbourne Estate in Hull which celebrated its 150 year anniversary in 2025. This area is now known as ‘The Avenues’ and includes Marlborough, Westbourne, Park and Victoria Avenues leading off Princes Avenue.
This exhibition was very successful and the visitors gave us good feedback. All of the items which were on show are being put into lever arch files so people can come into the centre and spend time looking at things in detail. The booklets which we made on each topic are still available to buy.
We are still collecting information so if you have any history about buildings, houses or people in relationship to the Avenues including Princes Avenue and Pearson Park as that will be our next Exhibition, we would be great-full to hear from you.

This was a chance for drivers to meet up with old pals, unfortunately it was not very well attended but the photographs are still available to view if you want to call in to the centre on a Tuesday or Friday to speak to our Road Haulage volunteers and reminisce.
Model Railway Exhibition
This exhibition was a great success and we would like to thank all the exhibitors who made it possible as well as our volunteers who were on duty. Steve Manners exhibit was enjoyed by all the children who came along as they able to take charge of the rolling stock. We will be doing this again next year so look out for the adverts.
