We hold monthly talks on Wednesday mornings starting at 10.30am on the last Wednesday of the month, apart from August and December when there is no talk. Admission £3.00, pay by cash or card.

In 1897 Queen Victoria celebrated her Diamond Jubilee.  Hull was granted city status as part of the celebrations.  Local politicians and other leading professionals and business people created a city to be proud of.  On the journey from town to city we shall look at the good, the bad and the ugly aspects of the period between about 1860 and 1914 and  see the legacy of the transformative events.
