Product Details

This book tells a number of stories. On one level it recounts the struggle that took place during the Great War, regarding giving the fallen a decent burial worthy of their sacrifice, and how that led to the formation of the Imperial War Grave Commission. On another level it offers the most comprehensive research undertaken on the armed forces' personnel lost in the 20th century world wars and who were either buried in Hull General Cemetery or were remembered on a family headstone. The book also explains how the cemetery 'lost' its war grave headstones and how those men are now commemorated. With this information found in this book the reader would be able to locate all of these 'lost' garves and undertake a 'Remembrance' walk of their own.
